Big Bend National Park and surrounding West Texas Landscape
This is a gallery of some views of my New Years trek into Big Bend National Park and surrounding West Texas area. Winter is my favorite time of year in this region.
The sheer scale of Big Bend is something that has always overwhelmed my senses. I started visiting Big Bend when I was in my teens and have recently rekindled my love of deep West Texas. Rich in history and short on development and visitors, it is my kind of landscape. Remote and always requiring of a long travel commitment, one must earn time in the area both heading into and then back out of - some unique characters choose not to take that return route which makes the region that much more colorful.
This trip has motivated me to explore a long term photography project and series of annual treks, which I will being this year.
